Day 99: A Successful Journey (Creativity Prompt #14 result)
Following a path set before me
With light, color, and beauty
I tread lightly yet soundly
My eyes on the destination
The road bends and the sky darkens
Rain pours, soaking my clothes and my outlook
With a heaviness not easily lessened
My feet grow tired and the path turns to mud
Each step takes effort
And I can no longer see the journey’s end
Where is my guide to lead me on
So that I can move forward
I fall to the earth, my ear to the ground
And I listen to the sounds Mother Nature creates
Though my body aches and my spirit sags,
I summon my strength and stand
I move ahead, determination and focus my motivation
The colors are brighter though the rain still falls
The sounds are heightened though the storm clouds clatter
The trees remain standing though the wind roars
And I walk on as both a part and a whole.
**I am an Artistic Spirit! For most of my life I’ve used the creative arts as a source of spiritual exploration and healing, even though I didn’t always do so consciously. Sometimes I was the instrument creating the art and other times I was on the receiving end. The connection between art and spirituality is so significant in my life that it’s infused into everything I do. I love music, theatre, television drama series (daytime and primetime), and creative writing and find fulfillment in artistic expression of various sorts: singing, acting, and jewelry design. Throughout the next 12 days, I’ll delve into how all of the above strengthens my spirit and has saved my life on more than one occasion.**
