DAY FIVE: Sing Out
Today didn’t leave much time for writing. I spent most of the day in New York City attending the Broadway flea market for the very first time. As someone who has grown up with a deep appreciation of musical theatre and love being around Broadway, I try to go up and see you show at least once a year sometimes twice in the same day.
But today I went up into the city with one of my dear friends who loves theatre as much as I do. As we walked around Tines Square, we scoured through collections of rare and new memorabilia, posters, scripts, and vocal selections. We purchased hats and magnets – donating to a worthy cause, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
We spent the day walking around, just enjoying being in the city but by the time we left we were both exhausted. When I returned home there was still much to do, so I haven’t gotten a lot of writing done. Expect a lot of work on my fictional pieces to come in the days that follow. After all this is a journey and some days I’ll need to renew and refresh.
