111 Day Artistic Spirit Pledge: Spiritual Growth Through Creative Expression
Day 37: Floral Design
I don’t quite know why I’m so fascinated by flowers. Especially since my thumb is nowhere near green. Perhaps it’s the wide array of colors or the multitude of fragrance that draws me in. Maybe it’s the shape of the petals or the length of the leaves. I venture a guess that my fascination stems (like what I did there) from a combination of all of the above.
I noticed in my collection of hand-made necklaces, I used many flower pendants – all of various styles, colors, and intricacies. I’ve made two new pieces, just within the past 24 hours, both of which are floral in design.

I’m intrigued by the symbolic use of flowers and am very interested in learning more about this topic. For instance, roses are linked with romance. Is it just red roses or a rose by any color; it may smell as sweet, but does it share in symbolism with that of its siblings?
Regardless of why I’m so interested in flowers, gardens, and beautiful landscapes, I’ll continue to let their natural essence inspired me on a creative level.
**I am an Artistic Spirit! For most of my life I’ve used the creative arts as a source of spiritual exploration and healing, even though I didn’t always do so consciously. Sometimes I was the instrument creating the art and other times I was on the receiving end. The connection between art and spirituality is so significant in my life that it’s infused into everything I do. I love music, theatre, television drama series (daytime and primetime), and creative writing and find fulfillment in artistic expression of various sorts: singing, acting, and jewelry design. Throughout the next 74 days, I’ll delve into how all of the above strengthens my spirit and has saved my life on more than one occasion.**
