Day 35 of the Artistic Spirit Pledge

111 Day Artistic Spirit Pledge: Spiritual Growth Through Creative Expression

Day 35: Word Association

Water Please

I struggled quite a bit with a topic for today’s blog post.  When I get stuck, I tend to free-write, playing word association until I get a result that makes some semblance of sense.  So, I used the photo above as inspiration and went to work.

Water…Droplets…Rain…Umbrella…Puddles…Dancing…Gene Kelly…Musicals…BROADWAY…Performers…Actors…Writers…Stage…Screen…Television…Camera…Photography…Black & White…Social Injustice…Civil Rights…Community…Growth…Action…Inaction…Politics…Jaded…Motivated…Compassionate…Hopeful…Empathetic…Artistic…Dreamer…Creator…Nourish the Soul…Feed the Spirit…Art…Spirit…Artistic Spirit…More than Halfway Full

I had a lot of fun with that, and it helped me draft tomorrow’s blog post too!

**I am an Artistic Spirit! For most of my life I’ve used the creative arts as a source of spiritual exploration and healing, even though I didn’t always do so consciously. Sometimes I was the instrument creating the art and other times I was on the receiving end. The connection between art and spirituality is so significant in my life that it’s infused into everything I do. I love music, theatre, television drama series (daytime and primetime), and creative writing and find fulfillment in artistic expression of various sorts: singing, acting, and jewelry design. Throughout the next 76 days, I’ll delve into how all of the above strengthens my spirit and has saved my life on more than one occasion.**
