Motivational Monday Poem: America’s Tattered Fabric

MM Tattered Fabric image

Veils fashioned out of greed, power, and fear

Thicken with every racist, misogynist thought

Stains the soul, clouds judgement

Wounds the heart and tears the fabric of America

Words matter,

Whether used as weapons of mass destruction

Or as a shield to keep truth at bay

Cowardice in the face of racism and misogyny

Is not who we are as a nation, a people, a united spirit

Speak up and out

Heal your mind, body, and spirit

As you patch the torn fabric of a battered country.
